Nearly 70% of automotive executives say that supply chain volatility is their biggest source of business pain, ICRON survey shows
Istanbul, 16 October 2018 – ICRON, a leading provider of Optimized Decision Making and Supply Chain Optimization software solutions, today released the results of a new survey, which found that 68% of automotive executives think that supply chain volatility is their biggest source of business pain.
The results of the survey – which was completed by 150 automotive executives at the 5th annual World Automotive Conference in Istanbul earlier this month – also revealed that 56% of respondents admit that they do not have an end-to-end view of their business, while 68% said that their company does not have the right technologies to support an effective S&OP (sales & operations planning) process.
When asked which trend in the automotive industry would have the most impact on their company’s strategy and operations in the next five years, 39% of respondents said “availability, integration, and interpretation of data”, while 27% said “self-driving cars”, 23% said “overhauling the purchasing process from dealers to buying online”, and 11% said “hybrid and electric cars”.
The survey also showed that 97% of automotive executives think that being able to make optimized decisions could significantly increase the competitive strength of their company.
